Need a second pair of eyes on your book? But don’t want to spend a fortune on an editor? I’ve studied the writing craft and editing for four years, and love to help turn manuscripts into shelf-ready books. Without giving you the headache of high pricing.
What Do I Do?
Experience and Education:
I’ve edited projects ranging from epic fantasy to YA fiction. I’ve even done a handful of law-based documents for someone who needed their work to be spotless (focusing on grammar only, not to give legal advice). To be respectful of their privacy, I don’t show any as samples.
I’ve studied the art of writing and editing for the past four years, reading books and taking courses in literature, English, creative writing, and editing.

Editing I Do:
I’ve done all forms of editing, but my focus is on copyediting and proofreading. However, if you need some advice on your developmental and line editing, I’d be happy to consider that.

Most of my work consists of fantasy, romance, adventure, and light contemporary.

Though I don’t consider myself a Christian (swear words are fine), I do have related standards, so just keep that in mind.
A friendly reminder, I do reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Which I will exercise if I don’t think I’m a good fit for you.
Pricing & What to Expect
Cost: $0.01-$0.02 per word. I’m still learning and practicing this skill every day, so I keep this fair. The price will be negotiated based on project deadline, extent of editing, and how much time it’ll take. If it really needs a lot of work (don’t worry I’ve been there), or if you’re on a tight schedule, I might raise it to $.0.03 per word to fit you in.
Refunds: I do allow at least partial refunds. There may be some negotiating involved in this, but I genuinely want you to be happy with the service you’re paying for. If you’re really unsatisfied with the results, I will compensate you for it.
First Steps: I will ask for a sample of your writing (the first chapter or 1,000 words of your novel), and a brief description of it (genre, word count, any tropes included, things like that). I will also want to know what your expectations are, including the kind of editing you want done and any deadlines you have. This will help me to know what you need and give you the best results possible.
What I’ll Give You: If I agree to work with you, I’ll give you an assessment of the project, which will include how much time it’ll take, the extent of editing it needs, and an estimation of the price. I’ll also give you a contract that both of us will sign, stating all the terms and conditions for absolute clarity. This can be renegotiated as needed while the project is ongoing, because life happens and things change. Just communicate with me, and I’ll do the same. I’ll also keep you updated on the process and notify you immediately if there are any issues.
